- Put the pipe with suction head into tank
- Put the other end of the plastic tubing into a bucket
- Shake the pipe with the suction head up and down until the water expels out automatically
- Move the head following the effective slant angle and agitate the sand/gravel
- Dirt will be sucked out with the water into the bucket
